The Stand of Resilient Filipinos: “Preparedness is the Key to Safety”

Disasters are nothing compared to the resiliency of Filipinos, even if the sky’s get rough or the lands and waters become a danger, we will still stand up and build ourselves with a smile in our face.

One of the main reasons of destruction is the occurrence of disasters. But these disasters are noting compared to the resiliency of Filipinos, but for us to easily cope up with disasters the best thing to do is to be prepared. We Filipinos has the power to smile and has the strength to easily cope up when downfalls and circumstances come to our lives. A unique characteristic of us Filipinos that is surely remarkable, for these attitudes of us shows our un-dying resiliency which is astonishing in a sense that whatever circumstances that we may face, we always choose to be optimistic and view the positive side of life.
“Kahandaan sa sakuna’t peligro para sa tunay na Pagbabago.” The theme for this year’s National Disaster Resilience Month strives us to be ready at all times in order for us to surpass the different dangers that disasters could bring in our lives. The theme also exemplifies that we can achieve real change if we are prepared for any threats and hazards that could be brought by disasters, because the resiliency of Filipinos is not only based on how we rise and stand on our feet once we fall on the ground, but it is also based on how we prevent for further damage, destruction and casualties that disasters might bring. Having to conduct these kinds of programs are very essential, for our resiliency are being improved in every step because of the different programs that provides us the knowledge and skills to cope up with the effects of disasters in our lives.
Disasters are things that should be taken and treated seriously, but in order for us to surpass the problems that it might bring, our knowledge and preparedness is our key to safety.
