Risks and danger
can occur anywhere, anytime and in any place. And these risks could be fatal
when preparedness loose grip in our hands.
Earthquakes
cannot be predicted and detected. They cannot also be forecasted just like the
weather, and you cannot tell when or where it will occur and cause damage. With
the help of the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, we are now being aware
of the things that could happen when an earthquake occurs and that specific
natural phenomena that urges our nerves to be prepared is that the expected
strike of the so called “The Big One”. In order to gain more knowledge and
experiences in coping and to be safe and ready for this phenomena, the
conduction of this activity has really brought us significant knowledge and
experiences in dealing with these kinds of situations. With these kind of
activities and programs which is led by the NDRRMC and spearheaded by the
different government agencies and local organizations around the country, we
are now being aware of the different risks and consequences that may happen
when we are not ready and prepared. These conducted programs and activities
made us realize that yes, earthquakes cannot be predicted, but we can lessen
the casualties and life-alarming effects of this phenomena.
So, let us put
to our minds and hearts the importance of being ready and prepared in any time
of our lives. Because ye we admit that we cannot control mother nature, but let
us carved to our minds and hearts that we can change our fate and destiny if we
are prepared and ready. Because it is in our hands on how to handle our own
fate and destiny. And because our preparedness is our key to safety.
